²⁵ The king said to Zadok, “Return the Ark of God to the city. If I find favor in the eyes of the Lord, he will bring me back and let me see it in its proper dwelling place. ²⁶ But if he says, ‘I have no pleasure in you,’ look, here I am. Let him do to me whatever is good in his eyes.”

²⁷ The king said to Zadok the priest, “Aren’t you a seer?^[a] Go back to the city in peace. You two priests, take your sons with you—your son Ahima’az and Abiathar’s son Jonathan.
